Ames Area MPO Long Range Transportation Plan - Ames, Iowa |

This transportation plan is unique because it is the first one prepared with Ames designated as a metropolitan area. The plan identifies transportation projects and services that will be funded through 2030. |

Project of the Year - Blair Municipal Airport - Blair, Nebraska |
| |
The Airport Sponsor, NDA and FAA were very pleased with this project and the performance of the contractor and the consultant. This project illustrated timely responsiveness and excellence by the Blair Airport Authority (BAA), HWS Consulting Group (HWS) and the contractor, Cedar Valley Corporation (CVC). |

Kimball Avenue Improvements - Manhattan, Kansas |

Kimball Avenue is a major east-west corridor for the city of Manhattan and leads to the Kansas State University football stadium. Reconstruction of Kimball Avenue was needed to replace failing pavement and to improve safety at the intersection of Kimball and North Manhattan Avenues. Through our comprehensive public involvement process our team highlighted the advantages of each alternative and a solution was jointly selected.

Big Dry Creek Drainage Improvement - Denver, Colorado |

As a result of urbanization of Big Dry Creek’s watershed, it’s channel banks and invert had become severely eroded and threatened adjacent facilities. It was also necessary to improve approximately 1000 feet of the channel.
This project involved a preliminary study followed by field surveys, soil investigations, all necessary hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, preparation of plans and specifications, construction staking, construction observation, and material testing. |

Hobson Yard Expansion Project |

Hobson Yard in Lincoln, Nebraska is handling record volumes of traffic for the BNSF Railway Company. This traffic increase has led BNSF to invest significant capital to expand its track and fueling facilities to meet the growing needs of their railroad. These improvements began in 2004 and are anticipated to be complete by the fall of 2006.

NDEQ Remediation Trailer - Lincoln, Nebraska |

HWS has successfully designed and constructed many soil and ground-water remediation systems in Nebraska. The vast majority of these have been for Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) sites that are reimbursed under the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) Title 200 reimbursement program. |
